Background
The AMCC is one of 3 masters cycling clubs in South Australia. The other 2 masters cycling clubs in South Australia are Southern Vales Cycling Club (based in McClaren Flat), and Adelaide Hills Masters Cycling Club (based in Flaxely).
All 3 clubs are members of the South Australian Masters Cycling Association (SAMCA) which is the local governing body responsible for coordination of masters cycling in South Australia.
SAMCA in turn is a member of the Australian Veterans Cycling Council (AVCC) which is the national governing body for masters cycling through its affiliated member state governing bodies in NSW, ACT, Tasmania, WA, SA, and Victoria. Amongst other things AVCC is responsible for promoting masters cycle racing in Australia, issuing racing licences, rider insurance, national championships, and referee accreditation.
To become a member of AMCC an individual must be 30 years or older and successfully apply and pay for a licence from the AVCC (see How to Join below).
